“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

― George Orwell, 1984

Whelp - seems like 68% of the population didn't get the message. Or, they've finally figured out gaslighting.

I mean, he only won with about 32% of the voting age population.  That's who thinks he's doing a good job.  The other 68% have to actually vote, vs just having 37% stay home.

It doesn't matter. Every poll ever shows that 70% of this country can't stand him and doesn't think he's doing a good job. But our system is so fucked that the 30-35% bootlickers can keep him and his cabal in power.

He doesn’t live on the street and he isn’t limited by a monthly budget for necessities. So he and his ilk can’t see that everything costs more, wages are stagnant and unemployment is rising. But if you own stocks and that’s your primary source of kicking - it would seem that people are making money. Just not regular working class people.

Wonder when the last time a majority of polled Americans would have actually believed the economy is booming? It seems like there is always a disconnect between numbers & how people feel about economic conditions

u/Olderscout77 (9 pts):
That means 32% of Americans are dumber than a box of rocks, or perhaps it's only 22% because the top 10% have been so heavely subsidized with income diverted from the bottom 90% they're doing GREAT. Speaking of the orange stain's version of "subsidize", what will he do for the farmers since he has to repay all the tariff to those who paid it so there's nothing left to subsidize farmers who lost their overseas markets to "uncertainty" and "unreliability" trump has added to our image.

The relevant bits:

According to a Reuters/Ipsos survey released Friday, 68 percent of Americans said they do not believe the economy is “booming.” Just 30 percent expressed confidence in current economic conditions.

Skepticism extends beyond growth claims to concerns about rising prices. The same poll found that 82 percent of respondents disagreed with the statement that “there is hardly any inflation in the U.S.” Only 16 percent agreed.

The findings align with other recent surveys measuring public sentiment toward Trump’s economic leadership. A joint poll by Washington Post, ABC News, and Ipsos released Sunday showed 57 percent of respondents disapproved of how the president is handling the economy. That survey also found 65 percent disapproval of his approach to inflation and 64 percent opposition to his tariff agenda.
