Brief

Crypto capital rotation is framed here as a structural portfolio change rather than a temporary trade. The post argues that heavily exposed veterans, some with nearly all of their net worth in crypto, simultaneously reduced exposure as exhaustion and cynicism set in, then reallocated into other themes like AI and robotics, making a full return of that money to crypto unlikely.

Why it matters

@Evan_ss6 argues that many long-time crypto holders who kept 80% to 99.9% of their net worth in crypto are now making a permanent allocation shift out of the sector.

Key details

  • @plur_daddy says the shift happened across many large holders at once because multiple factors converged: the 4-year cycle, quantum-related fears, disappointment after the president "shilled" and MicroStrategy/MSTR looked "cooked," technical/chart-based attacks, and competing opportunities in AI and robotics.
  • The author claims much of the capital leaving crypto has already been redeployed into other asset classes, and that significant portions may never return because exhaustion, cynicism, and a "memetic consensus" pushed investors to act.

Great take in this short thread, my thoughts are quite similar.

It's difficult to say exactly why this happened amongst so many holders of size at the same time, but all of the reasons Evan mentions here are true, as well as the general feeling of exhaustion and cynicism. Memetic consensus formed and people took action.

It's important to note that a lot of this capital has been redeployed in other asset classes and it will take a lot for it to return (much of it probably never will).

I think what you’ve been seeing across crypto is people who have had 80-99.9% of their net worth in crypto for many years making a permanent allocation shift

Reason doesn’t matter but:
-4y cycle
-quantum fears
-President shilled/MSTR cooked
-📈 🔧 attacks
-AI/robotics etc
