THIS GUY DUMPED HIS ENTIRE 2-WEEK SPRINT INTO CODEX AT 1% USAGE LEFT
he was basically out of quota on the Plus plan
so before going to sleep he said screw it, pasted every remaining deployment ticket into Codex 5.5 High, gave it full permissions, and told it:
“DO NOT STOP UNTIL YOU ACHIEVE ALL OF THIS”
fully expecting to wake up to the usual AI mess
broken deployments
half-finished logic
random hacks duct-taped together
hours of cleanup
instead he wakes up 9 HOURS LATER
and codex is STILL WORKING
not frozen
not looping
not asking for confirmation every 3 minutes
actually finishing the sprint
4 out of 5 deployment tickets done
code runs
logic clean
edge cases handled
deployments not broken
he literally said he started reviewing the tickets EXPECTING the usual AI cleanup
and there was barely anything to nitpick
that’s the part that messed with his head
this wasn’t:
“AI helped me code faster”
it felt like somebody did his job while he was asleep
his words:
“this kinda changed how I think about work going forward”
because for the first time
this didn’t feel like autocomplete
it didn’t feel like a copilot
it felt like actual autonomous execution
we’ve all joked that “software is cooked”
but this is the first time it stopped feeling like a meme
