Question for yall:

I often hear from divorced parents that one of the few awesome things about divorced parenting is that when one parent takes the kids for their weekend/week/month, the other parent gets a total break from parenting duties.

My question is this: why don’t parents who are still together pencil regular parenting breaks into their schedules??? Seems like a no-brainer. Dads, give your wives a day/weekend/week/month off regularly so she can have a life and a break from her parenting burdens. And moms, give dad a regular block of time when he’s not expected to be a workhorse (assuming that’s his normal role domestically).
